This is the life. Jack Palms is getting his well deserved sequel in Seth Harwood’s up and coming book This Is Life. I’m definitely looking forward to reading this book. To recap, Seth Harwood came on the scene with unique marketing efforts and the book Jack Wakes Up. In that book, Jack, the one time action movie hero, finally recovers from curve balls in his life that include a divorce and substance abuse. He finds his old friend Ralph has gotten into trouble deep enough to end up dead. You, the reader, get to watch Jack wake up from a hazy nonexistance and untangle the details related to Ralph’s depth which takes Jack further down the rabbit hole into the world of criminal elements. This Is Life takes off from there, I presume. Here’s a blurb from Harwood’s site about that:
In This Is Life, Jack Palms finds himself caught in a working relationship with none other than the San Francisco police. When one of their own gets killed and corruption invades the Hall of Justice, Sgt. Mills Hopkins hires Jack to poke around. Is Jack ready for his own brand of police work? Is San Francisco?
Follow Jack Palms as he tries to figure out if the life of a Private Eye fits him, hunts a cop-killer, and tries to solve a series of murders that leads him into the heart of San Francisco’s sex trade.
Don’t forget Young Junius if you haven’t checked into it already. It’s a kind of Jack Palms’ preview that fleshes out the background of a key Jack Wakes Up character. It’s Harwood’s second full length tale.
Seth Harwood offers additional Kindle format short stories for more glimpses into his sordid world. Stay tuned for those reviews.
Harwood is finishing up a Kick campaign to secure funding for his publishing efforts. You can join into that until October 8th. There are some neat thank you gifts included some hard to get hard copies of some of those short stories.
When’s the last time you saw a good author on the ground floor of getting his story to readers everywhere? Just saying.
