You out there looking for yourself Don't lose yourself You know you're already not like the rest of us You may have been the best of us But you've had better days and better luck Don't get lost like the rest of us I know you need the answers I know you're overwhelmed Put one foot in front of the other to get back to the helm You out there searching for yourself Have you found yourself Are you the lost version or the found version What is so concerning That while the world is turning You're turning into the rest of us. Momma didn't know but she did the best she could Daddy didn't know but he worked as long as he could Now the world is yours and you should Quit searching out there for yourself You've been here You've been among the rest of us You may have been the best of us But you've had better days and better luck We need to see you pick it up I know you've had lapses Your dreams dashed and hopes addled but we see your bootstraps get back in the saddle I know you need the answers I know you're overwhelmed Put one foot in front of the other to get back to the helm The world wants to hear your name Be the best of us again. |
